Group Interactive Activity for Global Gurus

Group Members

     1. Pedagogical approach.

      

·         Class will read article on empathy in medicine

·         Class will be divided into groups to allow interaction and discussion

·         Partners will think of questions and ideas from article (including ways that gerontology professionals can use empathy in their professional practice)

·         Students will use markers and construction paper to write down ideas

·         Students will participate in modified Think/Pair/Share with article on Empathy and Medicine.

 

     2. Grouping students

·         Students will be paired in groups of four and will number off 1-4

·         Instructor will have students discuss article and assign pairs by choosing to members from four example partners 3-4 and 1-2 

       

3. Themes and activities

·         Paired students will make a list of best practices and ideas regarding empathy
